		<description>Very interesting and thought provoking. I&#039;d never thought of it like that before.

I remember seeing just such a victim/victimizer double standard several years ago, on a PBS documentary series called 500 Nations (which was about &quot;Native American&quot; history in North, Central, and South Americas). It amazed (and annoyed) me, how conquests by Europeans were described in gorily graphic detail -- but the conquest and subjugation of native nations by other native nations was mentioned using language so casual and innocuous that one would have thought they were simply talking about a family reunion.

Part of what has always contributed to my belief in the trustworthiness of the bible is the very fact that it doesn&#039;t read like it&#039;s been touched up to make it more palatable. Throughout the bible, God almost seems to be daring the skeptic in us to kick the tires, and get in and take it for a spin. I&#039;ve always been impressed by the God of scriptures&#039; willingness and ability to take a punch, as it were.
